Wellness Care..

The Vermont Public Health Association believes that all residents of Vermont should have access to appropriate, high quality wellness care. Wellness care, which stresses prevention of all illness and maintenance of health, is cost effective and can effectively decrease the rate of death, disability and disease. Wellness care consists of a full array of screening, assessment, treatment and preventive services that help ensure the good health of the individual and the community. The VtPHA supports:

  • Education, prevention and intervention services that are readily accessible, with particular concern for underserved individuals and families
  • Delivery of wellness care by qualified health care professionals
  • Adequate funding of prevention programs, related research and personnel training programs
  • Adequate reimbursement of wellness care through insurance plans
