Healthy Aging..


The VtPHA supports optimizing the quality of life for older adults, including access to a full array of preventive, screening, assessment, and treatment services. VtPHA supports policies for elderly adults that include:

  • Access to comprehensive community-based services which enable elderly persons to be actively engaged in life, and be as socially connected as they wish
  • Access to adequate health care services, including access to affordable prescription drugs
  • Community supports and services to enable elderly persons to maximize their level of mental and physical functioning and independence
  • Community supports and services that reduce risk for chronic disease and secondary conditions
  • Support for older adults to live with dignity and independence in the setting they prefer
  • Access to and information about adequate financial security throughout later life
